Premier Bank Hosts Community Service Challenge for Associates and Donates $1,500 to Non-Profit Organization
Youngstown, OH (June 28, 2023) – As part of the Internal Kindness Campaign, Premier Bank’s Employer of Choice committee recently challenged associates in their eight local markets to a friendly community service competition.Throughout the month of May, the Bank’s market with the most reported community service hours had the opportunity to donate $1,500 to the local non-profit organization of their choice. An outstanding 295 hours of community service were reported by 75 associates throughout the Bank’s entire footprint. The Bank’s Mahoning Valley market was the winner of the challenge, with 126 hours reported locally.
Once the Mahoning Valley market was identified as the winner, a list was compiled of all the Valley organizations that associates volunteered at throughout the month. Associates in the market then had one week to vote on which organization would receive the $1,500 donation. The team selected the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County as the recipient.
As an added bonus, the associate in the winning market that reported the most community service hours would receive eight additional hours of paid volunteer time for 2023 through the Bank’s Community Volunteer Program. Amanda Cunningham, Commercial Credit File Clerk was chosen as the winner.
Each year, the Bank proudly invites all associates to participate in the Community Volunteer Program, which is designed to give associates the opportunity to represent Premier Financial Corp. through events and organizations that they are passionate about. This program provides paid volunteer time for employees annually. “Partnerships with community organizations, schools and local businesses let the Premier Bank team share their time and expertise through paid volunteer time and beyond,” explained Gary Small, President & CEO, Premier Bank.
The Bank’s Employer of Choice committee works for all associates of the organization, as associates are Premier’s number one asset. The committee was specifically developed with employees in mind and supports the Bank’s OWN IT (Opportunity, Wisdom, Nurture, Integrity, and Teamwork) core values. Committee members develop fun and productive initiatives and activities specifically designed to support Premier’s excellent work environment and culture. These activities are focused on employee engagement, enrichment, productivity and efficiency.
The Employer of Choice committee launched the Internal Kindness Campaign at the beginning of the year and dubbed 2023, the year of Kindness at Premier Financial Corp. The year-long celebration includes individual and team activities designed to support the Bank’s culture of kindness, generosity and gratitude.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to support our associates while giving back to their communities,” said Josh Toot, Mahoning Valley Market President, Premier Bank. “Seeing our teams rally together to support local initiatives, events and projects fuels our passion to donate our time or resources to make the Mahoning Valley stronger.”
